About Me

Jon Montgomery has been a saxophonist for over four decades influenced by the greatest players of the instrument. He developed his hard bop roots attending Oakland University studying with the great Motown session players in the Detroit area. He continued his education at Aquinas College, Grand Valley State University and the Armed Forces School of Music at Little Creek Virginia. He became a first call musician for numerous corporate recordings, TV & radio jingles, touring groups like Lou Rawls, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Aretha Franklin, Bob Hope, Johnny Mathis and was a featured soloist traveling throughout the United States, Germany, Italy, Australia, Trinidad, Belgium, and Denmark. 
His command and conducting experience with the United States Army music program spanned 27 years of decorated service on four continents. 
As an educator Jon has enhanced the musical journeys of hundreds of students while instructing at the collegiate and high school levels. His dedication to music education spans 36 years and he has helped students earn numerous scholarships and awards at the nation’s best music schools and festivals. He now pours his experiences into new compositions made available here and also with the largest publishers of music in the world.
